Walk Baby Walk

Wow, I just read the last post that I did, and it was a little Rant-y.
I just get so fired up about climate change...We so need to act and need to do it together!
I guess even Bush is starting to admit that global warming is real.

It is COLD! Really cold. The kind of cold that makes you want to stay in bed and knit sweaters.
Or tea cozies.
Or anything.

Kellen's big news is that he is learning to walk. He can stand on his own now quite well...though not for terribly long...And he can take a faltering step or so and fall into someone's arms giggling.
He also is able to climb all the way up the stairs, To the Top.
Of course, he needs spotting, but he is so pleased with these new abilities...just tickled.
It's a joy to watch.
I am so grateful for all the time we have had as a family lately, just enjoying each other and being together...how LUCKY we are...I cannot imagine only having 2 weeks off a year to be together like this. I guess that is why we set up our lives this way, but boy, how lucky it is.
Wintry blessings...

Oh, last thing is that I had my hair colored today, and it is rather orange-ish but in a good way, like sand or autumn leaves. The color is moroccan sand. My hairdresser used that and then also ran some brown through it...But the funny thing is how GRAY my roots are even now...She pulled it through a cap for the brown, and it still didn't totally cover the gray. She was fretting over it, but I was fine with it...Still, I felt kinda old.
Between that and all the knitting I am doing, I am feeling my age today!

Along that theme, I told Aid today how amazing having him has been for me.
What a teacher, this having children.
I told him that he and Kellen were absolutely the Best Thing that has happened in my life.
Because it is true.
Sure, kids are hard sometimes; they push buttons, test limits, tie you down.
But they are truly the Best thing too...like so much joy that just sings inside your heart.
