Winter Winter Wonderland at last...and Step It Up for Global Change
As I post this, the song, "Get up Stand Up" has just randomnly come on the playlist.
I just signed up to host an event through this organization: stepitup07.com.
I think this is important for all of us--I just gave an impassioned speech to Brian about how angry I am at our forefathers and the baby boomers for leaving us with this global mess.
And I'm annoyed that it is hard to change our own habits...because to be environmentally responsible is more expensive...To eat organic is more expensive. But we REFUSE to drive a gas guzzling anything, which is at least Something.
And, I've just volunteered to host one of these events. Bill McKibben, one of my favorite writers, is behind this effort to send a message to Congress on April 14th that we need Change and attention to Global Matters, especially Climate Change!
Anyone who is not on board with the importance of climate change needs to see the Al Gore movie or at least see the pictures of the ice caps for themselves...
Climate Change will be The Issue for our children's generation.
The Issue.
It will be huge.
And how we handle it now will impact the next 7 generations in ways we cannot even imagine!
I realize I sound preachy, but everyone must do his or her part...Get out there and volunteer on the 16th...or buy a hybrid...or trade in your SUV for a small car...or bicycle more...or write to Congress...or do whatever you can...
We all must...
For we are all connected, whether we like it or not...
