The Failed Tree Lighting Adventure

OK so I thought it would be a fun idea to bring the kids into town to see a tree lighting...
at Boston Common. Apparently, in the early part of the 1900s, Boston helped Nova Scotia by sending doctors after a disaster.
In return and to show its gratitude, Nova has sent a tree down to Boston every year.
Tonight, that tree was lighted...

The tree debacle began when my elder son had a hissy because he didn't want to go.
Total hissy.
Not a good start.
By the time we reached Brian's work, I was decidedly Not Happy.

Dinner returned everyone to better moods..
The cheese fries helped I think.

Then the tree lighting was packed with people. There was a stage, people performing, but...
The tree wasn't being lighted until 8!
The kids are in bed practically by 8!
So...
We left.
After all that...
At least Aidan was happy.
