Calamondin, Meyer Lemons, and Orange Trees

Winter has arrived, and this year I've decided to grow some scrumptious things inside including tomatoes and peppers--and the difficult to grow oranges and lemons.
The truth is I have always wanted to grow citrus inside.
But there is something about growing your own fruit--and smelling the fantastic flowers that woos me.

I ordered an orange and lemon, and they came in the mail. Boy were they TINY!
I was expecting a larger tree, and I was disappointed in both, which were less than a foot high.
So I went out and bought the Clamondin I've had my eye on since June.
Seriously.
This particular tree has almost 70 of the little fruits setting though we won't be enjoying them anytime soon. Citrus can take up to 7 months for fruit to ripen!

Here are some pictures of the new garden, which I set up in a window under a grow light for extra light oomph.
Aidan was a good sport, pushing his brother's stroller, so I could get the impossibly large plant home...
My boys are adorable, caring, loving, great with each other...

In the cute department, Aidan said the other day, "mom, all I need in life is a plant to take care of, a house I like, and something so I don't get bored."
Brian and I gave each other the "isn't-that-the-cutest look."
Because, really, isn't it?
