Summer Books

I am not going to blog long...just a quick note to say that I love Eat, Pray, Love.
I picked it up yesterday and read it for a bit.
The book is hysterical, and I need to laugh right now, need to practice loving compassion and forgiveness (though I'm not really talking about why per se)...
In this world, we all need to have love for ourselves, the planet, and each other.
We all need to look carefully at our choices and ask ourselves, "Are we doing all we can to ensure happiness for our children? Are we doing all we can to ensure that our own spirits can grow and evolve?"
Even given the pitfalls of my life (we all have them after all), I am so grateful and am practicing thankfulness for the gifts of understanding that these pitfalls have bestowed.
I would never trade places with someone who is being an oppressor in any way, never want to carry that kind of karma into my death and beyond--
Because our actions--all of them--do follow us.
We may justify and say that they do not.
We may be in denial until the moment that we die.
But really, we all pay a spiritual price or reap a spiritual benefit...There is so much more to us than this body, this life, our experiences here--even if, in the moment, that doesn't seem true.
So this morning I am practicing gratefulness for all the blessings I have been given in terms of my family, my beautiful children, my supportive and kind husband (he is amazing!), my father, my talents, abilities, and loves (my writing, my power of expression) and finally my ability to be somewhat calm even in an emotional hurricane (this is the piece that I am learning now)...
And finally, I know that I have grown and evolved! What a gift that is! To know this, to breathe this, to feel connected to the universe and spirit...
What more is there?
OK so read Eat, Love, Pray!
And go to India or Italy soon!
