Motherhood, Writing, and Other Little Pieces of Brightness

Happy St. Patrick's Day, which we never celebrated before we moved to Plattsburgh.
The holiday is huge here in the schools...Aidan even made a leprechun trap.
The obsession here with St. Patrick's Day is so funny! LOL.

I am off to shovel out the driveway...We indeed got a big snow last night...so sweet and quiet...
I spent some time this morning looking up links for my Third novel...or my Sixth! I would like to do some kind of science fiction type thing. There are a lot of cooks out there though--and they now have web sites.
Ah well, book research is interesting...It leads you to weird places online (like my current one including vampire research).
I am also reading Ursula Le Guin (my new hero).
She is great!
Thanks Susan for the Christmas gift of Earthsea novel #1.

Kel has been sleeping erratically again; he was up all night. Poor Bri was up at 4 and 5 and then slept all morning.
We are all surfacing from the no-sleep night (except A. who slept great).

The moving chaos of packing continues...My friend Laura wants to take me to visit the statue of the founder of the city (to take pictures for her book or for the student mag). That sounds kitschy and fun.

I can't wait for the next 6 weeks to fly by...so I can be fully in full-time motherhood with plenty of time to do some writing as I choose...Full time motherhood...what a concept: I am so excited! My kids rock. All kids rock. Which is why I spent so much time educating future teachers...
But now there is time to write the poetry instruction book (and the novel) and just be a mom-type.
Ps--At this time of year here it helps to think sunshine. And butterflies. And flowers or blue-water beaches. Anything colorful that is NOT under a foot of snow.

1 Comments:
i have to tell you the whole notion of a snow storm and the quietness is like complete nostalgia...
