OOOOO goes the Baby

Lately, Kellen has been saying "ooooooh" and "uh-oh" and "ooooooh."
He makes this noise for happy occasions and also for anything sad or scary.
I came home from work today, and he had missed me terribly. "oooooh," he said. "Ooooooh."
And then he began to get sad as I washed my hands before picking him up. "ohhhhhhhh," he moaned.

Last night, I lost the baby for a minute or two.
Acutally, he had slid up against the wall, near where the headboard would be if we had one.
I couldn't find him and awoke panicking...
Sometimes Kellen sleeps in our bed as was the case last night.
Phew. Brian found the baby, sleeping above our heads.
He seemed cozy there, all snug against the wall.
I did not find the situation to be Funny.
Brian thought it was Hysterical.

Today, Kellen learned how to skateboard.
His brother held Kellen on the board and pushed him around.
On the coldest day of the year, we were inside, skating on the kitchen floor.
Aidan had his board, and I had mine.
I took Aid's board today to school...as a winter board, easy to lug around snowbanks.
But its center of gravity is different than my board and so it took some getting used to.
I fell halfway to class...

I had a GREAT day filled with the companionship of other serious writers, one a student and one an adjunct grad student, both of whom are excellent in their writing and ambition. It felt great to talk with them and to co-write with the undergraduate, who is simply put Brilliant.
On this cold, cold day, the activity of writing and talking about writing warmed my heart and brain...
And it didn't feel so cold anymore.
