This Town Cracks Itself Open...Just in time for Us to Leave
We realized that we had arrived in town socialite circles when we had a party every day this weekend.
One last night, one tonight.
Tonight's is a wine and cheese. Last night's was a board-game extravaganza.
We played Taboo last night.
It was fun.
The host is from this town, but he said "I am OK because I went away and came back. People who are just from here are not normal" or something like that.
We all laughed.
But it was kinda true. People from here are super isolated. It is surprising because we are close (1 hour) to a major and a minor but totally cool and hip city.

So last night, no one hit on me. No one hit on Brian. No one in attendance got drunk.

Phew.
* * *
And we made some new friends, I think, just in time for us to leave.
I have this theory that one has to be somewhere for a couple years before you make deep connections.

I also arranged my leave of absence/notice at work, and my friend Elaine cried. It was cute. I love Elaine. Kellen loves Maria. But ... it is time for this family to move on. I am taking a year's leave of absence, so we might come back here. But for next year, we need a change. And Brian needs to follow the campaign trail. So it's high adventure and political jinks for us.

Kellen is napping today, just enjoying his sleep time, which is Very Unusual and also a wonderful relief. That little pooka NEEDS to sleep, but he doesn't like it. The doctor said that part of this now is just habit from all the reflux waking him up previously. It's hard now to know if he has reflux or just bad Sleep Associations.

Now that my notice is given, it's onward to getting the house packed up and a million other things. I think we are going to need to hire help. I can't imagine getting it all done with Kellen in tow.

Wish us luck friends and fam. We are going to need it.

where are all the past postings and all the sidebar info? or is my ocmputer not showing it?
wowooooowwwwww...adios plattie for you guys for the next year or more...it is always that way...i have the thoery it takes at least 2! and then more if it a place that just does nto seep in as home.
