Book Proposals and Sleep!

This is the sad thing: It is not even 10 p.m., and I am exhausted.
I am going to tuck myself into bed with my laptop, so I can try to get the book proposal for my Poetry Textbook done.
I really really really want to send it to publishers tomorrow.
The publisher that I want allows electronic submissions, and I am almost ready.
I just need four hours to finish...
But four hours with family in tow just never happens.

Have I mentioned lately that my kids are the BEST thing that ever happened to me?

It's true. Even in moments when I'm TIRED and sleep deprived, it is still true. My friend tried to say that he doesn't think anyone should have kids now because we live in such troubled times.
We do live in troubled times.
But I have faith--faith in the universe; faith in God; faith in my kids.
They remind me how to have fun and Be Joy.
They Are, by nature, joy incarnate.

Knowing this I try to have a good sense of humor about the Small Things like not Getting Out a Perfectly Good book proposal that I think will truly be GREAT for teaching poetry to high school students.
I really am excited about this book.
Now if I can just find the energy to get the final touches done...
I'll let you know if I manage to stay awake with my laptop in bed...
