First Kiss

Kellen had his first kiss today.
Completely unprompted and out-of-the-blue, Kellen's only baby-friend, who is one years old, crawled up to him and gave him a big baby kiss on his cheek.
Startled, he looked at her squarely and did what any smart boy would do.
He looked at her with gooey, gazey eyes and then gave her a kiss on her nose.
* * *
It was SO cute.
Two babies, interacting and kissing.
There was such love in that shared moment, and I thought:
All we all want in the world is to just be loved.
And here are these two babies who already Have it Right.

I think hatred must be taught because I've never seen it in my babies.
Anger, yes, frustration, yes, but not hatred.
Love, affection, joy: These also seem innate and apparent in babies.
But hatred, no, I think that must come later.
* * *
I'd like to live in a world without hatred.
I'd like for my children to have a world filled with peace and love.
Kellen and his girl-friend are off to a good start.
They are both deeply loved, and it shows in how they are in the world.
