Vacation is All We Ever Wanted

This has been the summer of jinxed vacations, the summer of skin rashes and all things Hex-ish.
I am beginning to think we have a vacation curse.
Every time we even think about going away, someone falls ill.
Last night, in the middle of the night, K. woke up with a fever and cough.
And we were due to leave today...
* * *
Now K is going to the doctor.
And I am trying to keep my sanity.
* * *
Trying to look on the bright side, I am wondering if we should just stay here and get some work done, play in the sun locally, bring the kids swimming and just Let It Go.
* * *
Well...I have decided not to let all this get to me.
A. just got over a cold, which he caught last weekend at a wedding when a friend's son was just finishing a virus.
A.'s cold lasted five days and is better each morning.
* * *
So...for those who say summer is the Anti Flu, Anti Sick time, I have decided to stop having such expectations and to try to be in the moment about it all.
For this moment, the laundry beckons; the tea kettle sings on the stove; the rest of the packing remains; and the switching around of plans and hopes needs to happen.
* * *
Oh and while we are at it: Could you all say an Anti-Vacation Hex on our behalf? This luck is starting to feel medieval.
