Shaping Up

Getting back into shape after having a baby is pretty much a feat of daring, requiring bold action and no double chocolate lattes.
Mostly I am on board with this project.
But my birthday always brings a little dash of chocolate indulgence which stretches over a couple weeks and then results in my gaining 5 pounds.
Every year.
It all starts with one piece of chocolate mousse cake. Or two.

Lately I've been feeling inspired.
My skin rash is ever soooo sloooowly going away.
My liver is inflamed from the infection and the myriad allergic responses, from the dicloxacillin and the clindamycin and the zithromax.
My doctor said that this Should Quiet Down.
But I'm not taking anything for granted these days--like holding Kellen without worrying about spewing bacteria everywhere.
It is amazing how wonderful the little things are.

Yesterday I had this idea: It hit me out of the blue as if I'd been physically struck.
Now that's inspiration.
My father owns this Quite Large and amazingly beautiful parcel of land in Canada complete with an aquifer underneath it.
Seriously.
My father has been this inspiration about this land: He's basically pursued his dream of staring a water company there. He brought in chemists and hydrologists and spent mega money and time and love...'
But the lobbyists that he hired had their own interests in mind.
So the permits weren't approved.

So yesterday, I am sitting here sipping tea having just talked to my Lovely and loving Stepmother...
And we had had a long talk, and so I'm just sitting here when BAM BLAM CRAZY LIGHTNING BOOM: This idea falls out of the sky.
What if we were to start the first Socially Responsible Water Company? What if we were to use Dr. Emoto's techniques and somehow partner with him? What if we were to offer the land and water for Dr. Emoto's dream research lab?
Whati if?
So now I'm raising money, trying to raise $10 million to make this Dream Come True.
The world needs more socially responsible businesses, more models for the future.
Big business can be profitable--and it can give back to society.
If we get this water company up and running, we want to give back at least 5 percent of all profits to protect the world's waterways. We want to create a sustainable business, where the water in the aquifer won't be endangered, and we want to spread the word about Dr. Emoto's work.

Well that's the news from here: me, dreaming.
May your days be filled with dreams--large and small.
